Girls Exhibition in Bangkok
|
Went to this exhibition last Tuesday night.
There was some really nice work in it. 1 Japanese girl and 5 Thai girls.......i think. info under pic.
1. Tomoko Matsui (niko): drawing, painting
Graphic designer and illustrator.
I was born in Osaka, Japan in 1981. After traveling the world as a backpacker, I became interested in the South East Asian subcultures, which I have found to be quite unique and different from the more well-known European, American and Japanese subcultures. In 2005, after graduating with a degree in graphic design from Kanazawa College of Art, I decided to move to the hottest Asian city of Bangkok. niko is the girl, me and the name of my world.
2. Tunnicha Tangkawattanakul: installation
A fresh graduate from the class of 2007, Faculty of Fine & Applied Arts, Textile Design, Thammasart University.
3. Thanistha Nuntapojn: print (etching & silkscreen)

Sun - Red - Sun
this is what the students in my volunteer class told me for meanings.
I had a really good japanese desert last night:

coco de nata - a few pieces

berry sauce
all in a small bowl, yummo

back now, got to see brunei on the way home which was pretty interesting, saw the venice of the east, they have police stations and petrol stations over water. People have boats instead of cars.
And saw Adrift in Manhattan last night. I thought it was really good, here is a still. I miss riding the subway in new york.

One day Id like to have one of these houses on a block of Australian bush (lots of gum trees), near the beach, with a small japanese garden out the back and my cat newt - miss newt. (she's at my mums house in greenwood)
